You will be collected from your hotel and transferred to the quaint town of Kota Belud which lies about 70 kilometers, or an hour’s drive away, from Kota Kinabalu. Well-known for its ‘Land of the Cowboys of the East’ soubriquet, it is also one of the most scenic districts in Sabah. Upon arrival you will visit the Tamu Market. The word ‘tamu’ means “meeting place”; up to this day it is very much a place where traders from the surrounding areas come together both for trading purposes and to discuss the latest events. You may find here local handicraft, tropical fruits, dried fishes, sarong and pots.
After the market proceed for another 2 hrs drive to Kudat on the northern tip of Borneo Island. Upon arrival you will have lunch at local restaurant then visit the Gong factory and bee farm.
The last stop will be at Tanjung Simpang Mengayau – the Tip of Borneo. Simpang Mengayau means 'lingering junction' as it is here that the South China Sea lingers and meets the Sulu Seas flowing from the east. The sunsets and full moons are just beautiful. The Pulau Kalampunian lighthouse is a reminder of treacherous coastline and past shipwrecks. On the left is the beautiful beach of Pantai Kalampunian. It's a lovely easy stroll to the flagpole, the Globe and the rocky outcrop that forms the "Tip of Borneo". Enjoy the stunning view. Return to your hotel in Kota Kinabalu
