Upon arrival in Kota Kinabalu you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for your own leisure. Kota Kinabalu, formerly known as Jesselton, is one of the most thriving commercial centers in East Malaysia and major gateway into Sabah and Borneo Island. Overnight in Kota Kinabalu
Leave Kota Kinabalu in the morning and enjoy a scenic drive (5 hours). Stop at the small town Keningau en route to Maliau Basin. After lunch at the Shell Maliau Reception, proceed along the gravel road for 1hrs drive to Maliau Basin Studies Centre; pygmy elephants and wild cattle (banteng) are frequently seen in this area. Upon arrival freshen up then visit the Sky Bridge (400mlong and suspended 22m above forests floor) and the Nature Trail for an introduction of the rainforest. Tonight enjoy a night drive in search of nocturnal wildlife; species most often encountered are clouded leopard, mousdeer, western tarsier etc. Overnight at Maliau Studies Centre.
Day 3 MALIAU BASIN (full board)
After breakfast, pack up and head to Agathis Camp nestled in hill mixed dipterocarp forest. From Agathis Camp trek through the rainforest for 7 km to Nepenthes Camp constructed by the Camel Trophy Expedition in 1993. Visit a 33m high observation platform for birdwatching. Proceed to the beautiful Takob Akob and Giluk Falls. Relax enjoying the surrounding rich vegetation. Return to the Nepenthes Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 4 MALIAU BASIN (full board)
After breakfast trek along the lowland Dipterocarp Forests for about 4 –5 hours (6.5km) to the awesome Maliau Waterfalls, the most famed and undisputed jewel in the crown of Maliau Basin. Maliau Waterfalls is a spectacular seven-tiered waterfalls cascading over and over into the Maliau River, the highest fall of which is a magnificent 28m. Trek to Ginseng Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 5 MALIAU BASIN (full board)
After breakfast, trek along the forest making your way back to Agathis Camp. This will take about 6 – 7 hours trekking. Stop for packed lunch at any rest station before continuing your trek to Agathis Camp. Settle in at the Agathis Camp for the last night of the adventure in the forest.
Day 6 MALIAU BASIN - TAWAU - LAHAD DATU (full board)
This morning, rise early, have breakfast and pack up. Drop by the 4storeys Maliau Basin Observation Tower which offers a spectacular morning views of the rainforest and journey to Lahad Datu for approximately 6 hours drive. Arrive and check into your hotel.  Overnight in Lahad Datu
Day 7 LAHAD DATU - DANUM VALLEY (full board)
After breakfast you will be driven for 2.5 hours though selectively logged forest to Borneo Rainforest Lodge, located beside the Danum River on the edge of 438 square kilometres of untouched lowland rainforest. You may be lucky enough to spot wildlife on the way.  Upon arrival at the lodge, proceed to your room. After lunch you will be taken on a guided trekking along the Nature Trail for an introduction to the rainforest ecosystem. This evening, after a slide presentation on Danum Valley Conservation Area, you will join a night safari on an open-air truck. Using a powerful spot light the guide will point out nocturnal species. Overnight at the Borneo Rainforest Lodge. 
Day 8 DANUM VALLEY (full board)
Rise early this morning and enjoy a whole day in the beautiful Danum Valley. A short walk from the lodge will bring you to the canopy walkway, suspended 26 metres above the forest floor. The view is magical. In the early mornings, mist hangs over the rainforest, forming a white veil from which only the tallest treetops emerge. After breakfast you will climb up the trail which brings you the View Point. You will stop along the way to discover the huge variety of flora and fauna. Close to the summit, you will explore an ancient Kadazandusun burial site. Upon reaching the View Point you will rewarded with a fantastic view over the valley. On your return, enjoy a refreshing dip in the natural Jacuzzi pool. After lunch enjoy an extended hike to look for orangutan, birds and other wildlife along nature trails, or join a relaxing session of water tubing down the Danum River. As, darkens falls, enjoy a guided night jungle walk in search in search of nocturnal species. Overnight at the Borneo Rainforest Lodge.
After breakfast return to Lahad Datu, then continue your journey to Sukau for about 2 hours. En route visit the Gomantong Caves, famed for its their ‘edible bird nests’. Walk for about 10 minutes through rainforest on a wooden boardwalk to the entrance of Simud Hitam Cavern and explore the cave system. The resident creatures of the caves include swiftlets (from which the nests are collected) and bats among others. After Gomantong Caves, you will be driven to Sukau. Upon arrival in Sukau village, take a short boat ride to Borneo Nature Lodge. After a brief orientation, you will be given free time to freshen up before the safari river cruise. Late afternoon, embark on a scenic boat trip on the Kinabatangan River in search of wildlife – at dusk you might see an amazing variety of birds, monitor lizards, macaques and proboscis monkeys. Return to the lodge for dinner. Overnight at the Borneo Nature Lodge.
This morning you will be awakened by the calls of gibbon monkeys and the sounds of hornbills. Embark on another river cruise to Kelenanap Oxbow Lake for birdwatching. Take a short jungle walk (if weather permits) and experience the wilderness of Borneo before returning to the lodge for breakfast. The rest of the morning is at your leisure to explore the surrounding areas or nearby villages. Late afternoon embark on another river cruise in search of wildlife. Dinner and overnight at the Borneo Nature Lodge

Today you will be driven for 2.5 hours to Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre for up-close orangutan encounter. Walk ten minutes through the rainforest on wooden boardwalk to witness the feeding of orangutans from the platform in the forest. After the feeding time of the orangutan you will be taken to the Outdoor Nursery where you will see juvenile and baby orangutans climbing and playing on the rope and in the trees. After Sepilok, transfer to your hotel or Sandakan airport
